A Study on Book – ‘Acts of Appostoles’
Once again I commit all the glory to God. I hope in Christ to study the book ‘acts of apostles’ in the coming volumes. I humbly request your prayers.
The book ‘Acts’ comes in fifth position in accordance with the books of ‘New Testament’ and is the first book after the books of Gospel. There is no sure information/ knowledge about the author of this book; however it is being believed that “LUKE’ the author of third book of new testament has written this book. The main reason to arrive at this conclusion is that both the books i.e “Luke” and “Acts” begin with an addressing “Theophilus”.
It is also being told that Luke had written this book either in Rome or Greece. The name of this book is derived from Greek word ‘Pracais’, which means the ‘high lighted acts of eminent person, achievements’.
As per the promise of God which we see in Acts 1:8 “But you shall receive power, the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judah and Samaria and to the farthest parts of the Earth.
The mission which apostle began after receiving Holy Spirit is still continuing and have received the Kingdom of God.
The important fact in this book which draws our attention is the collection of speeches which covers about one-third of this book. It consists of five speeches by Apostle Peter, seven speeches of Paul, and the preaching of Stephen the first blood witness after Jesus was taken to heaven.
With these as introduction I desire to have a deep study about the ‘acts of appostles’ in the coming Volumes.
